Our History
In the early 1950s John Pinder joined Peter B Welsh in his established practice at 53 Market Street, Kingswinford. Shortly afterwards they re-located to 84 Market Street.
Richard Moore joined the business in 1961 when Peter Welsh retired. The Moore family were well known eye surgeons and opticians in the Midlands. When Richard became a partner Pinder & Moore was born.
In the early 1980s John Pinder & Richard Moore purchased Mill House and relocated to its current location.
In 1999 John Pinder & Richard Moore sold the business to Charles Barlow and Mark Tuffin, who decided to keep the well-established and respected name of Pinder & Moore. Mark sympathetically restored the building and invested heavily into the business to ensure Pinder & Moore continued to offer the best eyecare possible.
In May 2024, the business was sold to Nilesh Patel, who had already worked at Pinder & Moore for five years as an Optometrist.
In November 2025, Laura Stringer became partner after more than 10 years working within Pinder & Moore.
We are proud to continue the original ethos and to remain recognised as one of the most well-respected optician practices in the area.
